Although advertising online is cheaper than in a printed publication, you should consider the return you will get from the money you have spent.

Many people still love forms of printed matter, as people like the feeling of reading a book rather than reading something digitally. A UK magazine trade association IPSO found that around 66% of the people surveyed had read a printed magazine at least once over the past three months.

When an advert is seen online, consumers will see it for only a fraction of a second before they continue scrolling.

People tend to keep their favourite magazines until the next edition or even longer. If you think about it, they will likely pick it up several times to look at over a cuppa and something to show visitors, friends and family. Magazines are rarely thrown away but shared between friends, so your advert may be around for many months.

As you know, many people go online using their phones often whilst doing something else like watching television, standing in a queue or cooking dinner. They will always be more engaged with the content when they sit down with their feet up to read a magazine. Therefore, your advert is far more likely to be noticed and remembered. For years, research has shown that what people read in print is far more credible than anything they read online. This is even more so since the creation of “fake news”.
