Exeter’s 12-mile green circle walk is a fantastic way to experience the city and surrounding areas. Along with some of Exeter’s most iconic landmarks, this 12-mile loop offers stunning views of Devon countryside. The route also takes you through various parks and gardens, allowing hikers to spot local flora and fauna, such as kingfishers, nuthatches and woodpeckers.

Created by Exeter City Council as part of its commitment to promoting natural health, the green circle walk enables people to move their bodies while taking in all the city has to offer. Whether it be an afternoon stroll or an early morning jog around town, locals and visitors alike will benefit from exercise while enjoying the fresh air.

The 12-mile route is split into 5 sections – The Alphin Brook Walk; The Ludwell Valley Walk; The Hoopern Valley Walk, The Mincinglake Walk and The Redhills Walk – each offering something unique to explore.
